Presentation On Fieldstone Farm Sidewalks. (CIC 2/27/20)
body
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a request for additional sidewalks within the Fieldstone Farms subdivision from the Fieldstone Farms Homeowners Association (HOA).
Background
This item has been added to the agenda at the request of Aldermen McLendon. The Fieldstone Farms Development was mainly constructed between 1989-1996 and included a network of trails throughout the subdivision to provide connectivity. It is the understanding of staff that this work was completed in lieu of building sidewalks along Fieldstone Parkway and Lexington Parkway. The HOA has approached the City about a possible partnership to improve the pedestrian elements and connectivity within the neighborhood.
Following the CIC meeting on 2/27/2020, staff reviewed the contractors estimate with MAY Construction and determined that some line items/work was missing and would need to be accounted for. These items generally include asphalt repair and relocation of stop signs at intersection medians.
Financial Impact
No financial impact at this time.
Recommendation
rec
If the Board would like to proceed with this request, staff can work with the HOA and contractor to finalize an agreement and cost. This agreement would then be presented to the Board for approval. Staff is seeking direction from the Board of Mayor and Aldermen.
