Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the grant contract for the Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program (TAEP) grant the Parks Department received for the planting of trees at the Water Treatment Plant on Lewisburg Pike in Franklin, TN.
Background
In the month of June 2019, the Parks Department applied for a TAEP grant from the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council. The grant was awarded to the Parks Department on August 1, 2019, and it will be used to plant approximately 286 trees at the Water Treatment Plant located on Lewisburg Pike. The grant period will begin on November 1, 2019 and must be completed by April 30, 2020.
Financial Impact
This is a fifty/fifty (50/50) matching grant totaling Thirty-Eight Thousand Seven Hundred One Dollars ($38,701.00). The TAEP will provide Nineteen Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Dollars ($19,350.00); the City’s match will be allocated from Tree Bank Funds.
