body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning agreements for dedication of easement for the Bobby Drive Water Line Improvements Project.

Background

The purpose of the Bobby Drive Water Line Project is to upgrade and loop the existing water line in Bobby Drive from Hillsboro Road to Bradley Drive.  It consists of the replacement of approximately 5,700 linear feet of 2-inch, 4-inch, and 6-inch water lines from Hillsboro Road to Bradley Drive.  This project will improve water quality and fire flow protection requirements in this area.  There have been numerous breaks on this line and customers that have lost water pressures while those mains have been repaired.  The City decided to install the water line outside of the roadway to avoid repaving the entire width and length of Bobby Drive.  To do this, City staff has been acquiring easements for the project.

Financial Impact

The costs for these easements area accounted for in the project cost.
