Background/Staff Comments

The site proposed to be annexed is approximately 61 acres and is currently not adjacent to any of the City of Franklin’s existing boundaries.  The properties are west of Lewisburg Pike and north of Henpeck Lane. The property is within the City’s Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) and designated in Envision Franklin as appropriate for Neighborhood Commercial and Civic-Institutional uses.

As part of the Interlocal Agreement with Williamson County Schools to extend the City’s waste water line to Oak View Elementary School, sewer will soon be available to the 1268 Lewisburg Pike property, as well.  Also as part of the Interlocal Agreement, WCS agreed to request annexation of their properties which border this site to the west. A separate Zoning request and Plan of Services accompany this annexation request.

While the properties are not currently contiguous to the City limits, additional annexation requests along the west side of Lewisburg Pike in this area are anticipated in the near future that would help fill the gaps between the city limits.
