body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a professional services agreement with Suez, Zenon Environmental Corporation for the remote monitoring and troubleshooting of the water treatment plant’s membrane process.

Background

One of the main processes of the upgraded water treatment plant (WTP) are the membranes, which are provided by Suez (a division of Zenon Environmental).  As part of the initial operation and maintenance of the membranes, the WMD has opted to allow Suez to remotely view the operating statistics of the membranes to provide hints for optimization or to provide troubleshooting if operators need assistance during operation.

This contract has been expired as we continue to work through the contract review and covers service from March 2019 until December 2021.  At that time WMD will assess if continued monitoring will need to occur based on operations and water quality characteristics.

Financial Impact

The contract cost of $16,249.00 is allocated under the Water Plant Operating Fund (421-82599-52103)
