Background

For several years, the City of Franklin has entered into an annual joint-funding agreement with the United States Geological Survey (USGS).  The agreement allows for the maintenance of five (5) continuous streamflow gaging stations on the Harpeth River near Franklin, TN.  The term of this agreement is from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020 and is for a combined total of $77,250.  The USGS contribution is $18,675, and the City of Franklin contribution is $43,575, with other funding sources providing $15,000.  The streamflow gaging stations assist with flood forecasting and warning, managing water and maintaining instream flow levels for threatened and endangered species.
