Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning renewal of a group license of the VT SCADA software for the water treatment plant and the water distribution and wastewater collection system monitoring program.
Background
When the water treatment plant (WTP) was completed in 2018 the automation of the facility was monitored through VT SCADA, a program that was identified through the IWRP as the preferred method for remote viewing of the of the processes and equipment. When the SCADA project was completed for the water distribution and wastewater collection system in the spring of 2018, the remote viewing was integrated into VT SCADA for ease of operations.
It is intent of this contract to integrate all the licenses into one package so remote viewing can be observed across all facilities, with the plan on integrating the water reclamation facility into this license when it nears completion.
Financial Impact
This total contract amount is $9,306.74 and was budgeted out of the WTP, wastewater collections, and water distribution funds.
