Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning acknowledgement of COF Contract 2019-0225 Willis Towers Watson Business Associate Agreement - HIPPA.

Background

Willis Towers Watson is the City’s new benefits consultant. City staff conducted a bid process back in March and based on staff’s recommendation, awarded the benefits consultant contract to Willis Towers Watson. This business associate agreement with Willis allows our dedicated benefits consultant to obtain confidential medical information from our third-party vendors which helps us manage our self-insured medical plans. In addition to medical plan management, they can provide us a claims analytic report that will allow us to review our demographics and claims data, so staff can be more strategic in our plan designs.

Financial Impact

No additional financial impact. This is already included in our annual contract with Willis Towers Watson.
