Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the partnership with Lipscomb University and the College of Professional Studies to provide a tuition discount of 20% to City of Franklin employees.
Background
The City of Franklin encourages the advancement of education by providing a tuition reimbursement program for our employees. Full-time employees, who have been employed with the City for at least one (1) year, are eligible to enter the program upon signing an agreement with the City. Lipscomb University provides both on campus and online courses that our employees can benefit from to complete their degree. This partnership will provide students with a substantial discount and assist in helping them fulfill their educational goals.
Financial Impact
No financial impact on the City of Franklin.
