FY 2019-2020 Non-Profit Funding Agreements

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the reporting of signed funding agreements for non-profit agencies and entities for FY 2019-2020.

 

Background

Each year through the budget process, the City of Franklin, Tennessee appropriates an amount of money to non-profit, charitable or volunteer organizations. State law (T.C.A. 6-54-111) requires that the governing body and the entity receiving taxpayer funding enter into a formal agreement and provide appropriate documentation of financial standing. This item simply reports out that agreements have been reached and signed for 16 different agencies:

-                     Community Child Care

-                     Community Housing Partnership

-                     Franklin Tomorrow

-                     Graceworks

-                     Gentry’s Education Center

-                     Mid Cumberland Housing Partnership

-                     Sister Cities of Franklin

-                     Tennessee Rehabilitation Center at Franklin

Financial Impact

 The total amount of money being distributed via these agreements in FY 2020 is $276,100.
