Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Amendment No. 1 to the East Franklin Farmer’s Market at Liberty Parks Lease.

Background

The Parks Department operates a lease with the East Franklin Farmer’s Market (hereinafter, EFFM) for space inside Liberty Park to be used for a Farmer’s Market on Wednesdays from 2:00pm-6:00pm. The current lease agreement was approved and signed on June 25, 2019. After the lease agreement was finalized the Parks Department approved the EFFM’s request to allow a mobile food vendor on site during the Wednesday Markets. The amendment permits one (1) mobile food vendor to operate on the leased premise on Wednesdays from 2:00pm-6:00pm for the purpose of performing cooking demonstrations and selling prepared food. This amendment runs with the original lease term from May 1, 2019-December 31, 2019. The mobile food vendor must also comply with the City’s Mobile Food Vendor Ordinance (Ordinance 2019-04, Franklin Municipal Code §9-1101) which has been attached as Amendment No. 1, Exhibit B.

Financial Impact

There is no financial impact associated with this amendment.
