Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the City of Franklin City Administrator and Project Facilities Manager to enter into a agreement with AT&T for the relocation of fiber and copper lines currently mounted to MTEMC poles that travel through our building site at Fire Station 7 located at 900 Brunacini Way Franklin Tennessee.
Background
With the development of Fire Station 7 (900 Brunacini Way) and in working with the property that was provided by Williamson County, there are large MTEMC support structures that carry major electrical circuits to the MTEMC substation located on Long Lane. The poles are also used for structural hanging of both AT&T and Comcast infrastructure that serves the local area. AT&T is being required to relocate their systems to wooden poles that are now located on the old abandoned Long Lane. There currently is a preliminary cost of $ 50,738.90 to move the fiber and copper to the wooden structures. AT&T will finalize their cost after the work is completed. The only way the cost could change if they have a request from the City (which at this time we see now additional changes) or there is an unforeseen problem in the field. A team from the City has met AT&T on site and has walked it and believe the cost estimate is sufficient to relocate this infrastructure.
Financial Impact
The preliminary cost currently is $ 50,378.00 and will be incorporated in the Fire Station 7 capital project budget.
