Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum it to provide information to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) to consider a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Collier Engineering Co, Inc for site, site materials and other testing services for the construction of Fire Station 7, 900 Brunacini Way.      

 

Background

During construction of the project (Fire Station 7), certain testing services will be required to verify compliance with various project specifications. Collier Engineering is a local engineering consulting firm that will make the needed site visits and conduct testing including compaction density testing of not only the site pad but also compaction of the parking area and roadway, testing for verification of the concrete installation (proper, specified PSI), backfill of utilities, air flow of the HVAC systems and air quality within the interior.

 

Financial Impact

The cost for testing will be $ 28,067.84 and will be paid out of the Fire Station 7 project budget.

 

Recommendation

Approval of Contract 2019-0136 with Collier Engineering is recommended.
