body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning COF Contract No. 2019-0173.

Background

The City of Franklin Parks Department has been working with the Franklin Special School District (FSSD) to replace two existing ball fields and upgrade existing infrastructure to construct new facilities per the approved masterplan developed for this site. The project generally includes the construction of two baseball fields, batting cages, pedestrian accommodations, seating, concessions and restroom facilities.

Staff is continuing to work with FSSD on a funding agreement to split the cost associated with the design and construction. In addition, staff is working on a long-term maintenance agreement associated with these types of projects.

Financial Impact

$276,300 for design services will be paid out of CIP fund with 50% of the cost being reimbursed by FSSD following approval of an interlocal funding agreement between the City and FSSD.
