Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the meetings and discussions of the Development Services Advisory Commission.
Background
The Development Services Advisory Commission is a group of eleven professionals actively engaged in real estate, construction, land planning, site design, or development who were appointed by the Mayor in 2018. The Commission has met seven times since September 2018. Discussions have included the City of Franklin Development Services and potential solutions to provide more predictable and timely processes and levels of service regarding Construction Site Maintenance, Construction Work Hours, the Development Review and Approval Process, and a Development Services Survey. Numerous personnel have actively participated in the meetings, including the COF Building & Neighborhood Services, Engineering, Fire, Planning, and Stormwater Departments, and also general contractors currently building in Franklin.
