Background/Staff Comments

The applicant is requesting a rezoning of 14.88 acres from Specific Development - Variety (SD-X) District to Specific Development - Variety (SD-X 2.02 / 95,618) District. The subject property is the Silver Grace PUD Subdivision, approved in 2009. The zoning is being updated to accurately reflect the assisted living facility as an institutional use rather than a residential use, an addition of assisted living space, and to establish a residential density. The total residential unit count remains the same, in that three single family lots are being re-assigned as cottage units.

 

The proposed additional square footage for the expansion of the assisted living facility is internal to the site and is supported as a use within Envision Franklin’s Multifamily Residential design concept.
