Purpose
The purpose of this procurement is to purchase a camera system for the CID interview room including software, hardware and services for the Police Department.

Background
The camera system in the Police Department's CID interview room is obsolete and needs to be replaced. Using Axon-brand of technology allows for all video captured by the department, including not only in the interview room but also by means of body-worn cameras and in-car cameras, to be on the same system and sharing platform. As was the case for the body-worn camera technology and the in-car camera technology, pricing for this procurement is based on pricing established by the National IPA cooperative purchasing arrangement.

Financial Impact
The total value of the purchase is $71,019.96 over five years including $44,411.96 in the first year and $6,652 per year in years two through five. Of these amounts, $4,752 is to be allocated to the General Fund in fiscal year 2019 and $6,652 per year is to be allocated to the General Fund in years two through five, while $39,659.96 is to be allocated to the Drug Fund in fiscal year 2019 and nothing to the Drug Fund in subsequent years. The Police Department budget for fiscal year 2019 does not anticipate this purchase. The General Fund portion of the Police Department budget can absorb the General Fund portion of the expense without the need for a budget amendment. St...
