Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the reporting out to the board the approval of the annual contract between the RTA and the City of Franklin for regional bus service to Nashville from Franklin.
Background
For many years, the City has contracted with the RTA to operate a regional shuttle into Nashville and Davidson County allowing local residents an alternative method to commuting to work in Metro other than driving. This contract merely formalizes that agreement for FY 2019. It has already been budgeted and signed by the Mayor.
Financial Impact
The value of this contract is $56,185, budgeted under Appropriations (110-87110-45920). Positively, additional grant funding was obtained by the RTA and the amount budgeted ($104,912) for FY 2019 more than covers the annual amount included herein.
