FY 2018-2019 Non-Profit Funding Agreements

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the reporting of signed funding agreements for non-profit agencies and entities for FY 2018-2019.

 

Background

Each year through the budget process, the City of Franklin, Tennessee appropriates an amount of money to non-profit, charitable or volunteer organizations. State law (T.C.A. 6-54-111) requires that the governing body and the entity receiving taxpayer funding enter into a formal agreement and provide appropriate documentation of financial standing. This item simply reports out that 16 agreements have been reached and signed for 15 different agencies:

-                     Community Child Care

-                     Community Housing Partnership

-                     Franklin Tomorrow

-                     Graceworks

-                     Gentry’s Education Venter

-                     Mid Cumberland Housing Partnership

-                     Second Harvest

-                     Sister Cities of Franklin

-                     Tennessee Rehabilitation Center at Franklin

-                     Transit Alliance

-                     WAVES

-                     Williamson County Chamber of Commerce

 

Financial Impact

The financial impact is provided for in the annual budget. The total amount of money being distributed via these agreements in FY 2019 is $265,915. ($215,915 from the Appropriations Budget and $55,000 from the Economic Development Budget).
