body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the acceptance of the warranty deed for the Eley Tract as part of the Carter’s Hill Battlefield Park property.

Background

As part of the twenty acres to make up what is known as Carter’s Hill Battlefield Park, the Eley Tract is 003.00-acre parcel owned by the American Battlefield Trust in conjunction with the Civil War Preservation Trust.  Through grants and private partnerships, the property was originally purchased and now being transferred by Warranty Deed to the City of Franklin as part of the park.

Financial Impact

The only financial fee is the recording fee the City of Franklin paid to the Register of Deeds in the total amount of twenty-two dollars ($22.00).  There was no fee for the transfer of property from the American Battlefield Trust.
