body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the donation by Barry Alexander Automotive, LLC to the City of its remaining parts inventory for emergency vehicles, valued in the amount of $285,658.13.

Background

In 2013, Harpeth Motorsports, a subsidiary of Barry Alexander Automotive, LLC, dissolved its business of providing parts and service for the up-fitting of emergency vehicles.  The inventory, which is the subject of this agreement, are the emergency vehicle parts remaining from its prior business.  Following consideration of the feasibility of using the parts in the future for both the Police Department and Fleet Department, it is recommended that the City accept this donation.

Financial Impact

This donation agreement is of no cost to the City, and imposes no operational obligations on the City.
