Contract with City Explained, Inc. To Provide Development Scenarios For The Mayes Creek Basin, Based Upon Potential Infrastructure Upgrades (Contract 2017-0229).

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a contract with City Explained, Inc.

Background

The Planning and Sustainability Department has been coordinating a land-use study of the Mayes Creek Basin.  Several large property owners have expressed interest in being annexed into the City of Franklin, but Envision Franklin designates most of the Basin as Development Reserve, which supports only low-density residential uses, due to inadequate infrastructure.  The City contracted with City Explained, Inc. to utilize the Community Viz software program, which the City does not possess, to show the development suitability for the Mayes Creek Basin if infrastructure upgrades occurred.

Financial Impact

The Planning and Sustainability Department paid City Explained, Inc. $1,000 for their services.
