Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning an extension of the original interlocal agreement between the City of Franklin and Williamson County for providing breathalyzer tests.

Background

In March of 2014, the BOMA approved an interlocal agreement (COF Contract No. 2014-0067) with Williamson County, which provides breathalyzer tests on Franklin employees who are involved in a vehicle accident while operating a City vehicle.

The term of Contract No. 2014-0067 expires on June 30, 2018, and Amendment A, extends the agreement until June 30, 2023.  This updated extension shall begin on July 1, 2018.

Financial Impact

There is no direct financial impact on the City of Franklin due to the proposed agreement.
