body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning utilizing City of Franklin parking within the City Right-of-Way and storage of valet parked vehicles within the 2nd and 4th Avenue parking garages for a one-time private event.

Background

The Shalom Foundation has made application to be able to have a valet station on 3rd Avenue occupying on-street parking and shuttle the cars to both the 2nd and 4th Avenue parking garages for a one-night event on April 21, 2018.  A similar event was held last year at the same location last May and permission was granted.

Staff has reviewed the application materials and ensured that the proposal will comply with the provisions of Title 16, Chapter 13 of the Municipal Code concerning valet parking.

Financial Impact

None.

Recommendation

rec

Staff recommends allowing use of on street parking spaces and partial use of the two City-owned parking garages on April 21, 2018 from 500 p.m. to 1100 p.m.
