Consideration of Resolution 2018-08, A Resolution to Revise the Organizational Chart within the Street Department (02/08/18 Finance 3-0)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning proposed modifications to the Street Department Organization.

Background

The Street Department organization currently carries a Traffic Signal Electrician position.  Certain responsibilities of this position have been transitioned to a new role within the Engineering Department.  As such, the requirement for an electrician element of this role is no longer necessary.  The Street Department wishes to eliminate the electrician requirement and reclassify the position to a Traffic Signal Technician II position to provide for adequate resources in the traffic signal division.  The pay grades are consistent between the two positions so the reclassification does not require any additional funding.

Financial Impact

No financial impact.

Recommendation

rec
