Professional Services Agreement with Collier Engineering Co. Inc. and the City of Franklin for Geotechnical Services at Fire Station 7 site. (COF Contract No. 2017-0374)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA)   that approval on behalf of the board was given for the City of Franklin to enter into a Professional Services Agreement with Collier Engineering Co. Inc for work needed on the future COF Fire Station Seven. [$ 9,975.00]

Background

The City of Franklin has been in discussions with Williamson County regarding the placement of Fire Station 7 on the east side of I-65. Currently, the City has a fully staffed temporary facility on the Williamson County Ag. Center Complex. The City has maintained this department since the first part of 2015. The swap of land was determined as the City is in the process of extending sanitary sewer services to the AG Complex. A professional services agreement was developed with Collier Engineering Co. Inc for multiple site borings and geotechnical services for the proposed site. The geotechnical services will help with site and road development in regard to foundation systems, drainage and determination if undermined soil is suitable for replacement and or compaction for roads and pads.

Financial Impact

The project amounted to a do not exceed amount of $ 9,975.00 and is being funded out of the current fiscal budget and site design funding.

Recommendation

This professional services agreement for design services has been entered into under authority granted to the City Administrator.
