Summary of Fourth Quarter 2017 Wastewater Collection System Activities

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning maintenance and inspection activities performed in the City’s Wastewater Collection System.

 

Background

The attached table presents a summary of the previous quarter’s activities related to sanitary sewer infrastructure inspections and assessments, maintenance activities and repairs made within the City’s collection system.

 

During the fourth quarter of 2017, Water Management staff have performed inspections and cleaning on over 108,000 linear feet (LF) of sanitary sewer line.  This equates to approximately 5.4% of the collection system.  Inspections and subsequent maintenance of manholes totaled 427 and 4 respectively.  The number of inspections performed in the fourth quarter of 2017 is approximately 4.8% of the manholes in Franklin’s system.  In review of these and other activities, Water Management staff has performed proactive and reactive inspection and maintenance tasks at point locations at a rate of fourteen deployments per day and for linear infrastructure at a rate of over 1,181 LF/day.
