body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the Amendment No. 2 to the Professional Services Agreement (COF Contract No. 2016-0330) with Hethcoat & Davis for the Holiday Court Pump Station Replacement Project.

Background

The existing pump station was installed in the 1960s and is in desperate need of an upgrade.  This upgrade will include a new wet well, valve vault, flow meter and emergency pump connection.  No building will be included as the station will remain configured as a stand alone station with external mounted control panel and telemetry equipment.

Amendment No. 1 for the project was approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen on April 11, 2017, to design replacement of the existing force main.

Upon further review of the project, City Staff requested the Consultant to provide a proposal to modify the plans to move the tie-in for the new force main in North Royal Oaks Boulevard.  This would save City funds as well as time because North Royal Oaks Boulevard would not have to be closed or repaved.  Staff also requested for 4 (four) temporary construction easement documents, an opinion of cost and to add record drawings to the contract.

Financial Impact

Amendment No. 2 will add an additional $11,909.00 to the existing contract.
