body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) (COF Contract No. 2017-0076) with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. (KHA) at a cost increase not-to-exceed $3,600.

Background

On April 11, 2017, the BOMA approved a PSA (COF Contract No. 2017-0076) with KHA to provide updated traffic signal timing plans for fifteen (15) intersections in Downtown Franklin.  The original scope was based on traffic counts being provided by the City of Franklin Traffic Operations Center (TOC).  Unfortunately, the equipment utilized by the TOC is inadequate for an intersection the size and configuration of the Public Square.  Therefore, City staff requested that KHA obtain updated counts for the Public Square.  KHA was instructed to obtain this additional information prior to May 22, 2017, which was the last day of school.

Financial Impact

The funding for this amendment will come from the TOC’s annual budget for traffic signal timing.  The general ledger (GL) codes to be utilized for project expenses is 110-82540-41610.
