Consideration of COF Contract No. 2016-0369 Summary Report of the Franklin Special School District (FSSD) Property Concept Plan

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Capital Investment Committee (CIC) concerning a summary report from the public outreach meeting and the preliminary concept master plans for the FSSD property partnership with the City of Franklin.

 

Background

The project description is to prepare a concept plan for three parcels of land owned by FSSD for potential recreation programming and site master planning.  A recap of the project is as followed:

                     Contract Approved:  December BOMA Meeting 2016

                     Introduced the Professional Service Agreement to the FSSD Board - January 23, 2017

                     Hosted multiple meetings with FSSD personnel and CORE Committee Members (Feb & March)

                     Toured School Site(s) February 2017

                     Hosted 1st Public Meeting at the Freedom Middle School Gym - April 27, 2017

                     Toured School Site Again - May 2017

                     Facilitated Stakeholder Meetings, which included the School Principals, Asst. Principals, Maintenance and Facilities Supervisor, and the Superintendent - April 24th & June 21st.

                     Next steps:  Gather input on the preliminary concept plans and incorporate comments into a final concept plan.

 

Financial Impact

The total fee schedule as contained in the Professional Service Agreement is Thirty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Eight and No/100 Dollars ($34,998.00).  Estimated time frame for completion is no later than September 2017. 

 

Recommendation

No recommendation is required as Staff is providing a summary report of the plan and final steps for completion.
