body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Resolution 2017-19.

Background

The City has received complaints for several years regarding stream-bank erosion along Jordan Branch/Spencer Creek located within the Cool Springs East Subdivision.  On May 26, 2015, the BOMA approved a professional services agreement (COF Contract No. 2015-0096) for the design of the Jordan Branch/ Spencer Creek Restoration Project.  The project generally includes bank stabilization, stream restoration and riparian buffer restoration.  City staff has held two (2) public meeting to obtain input and feedback on the final design.  In general, the project is supported by the HOA and they have conceptually agreed to dedicate the necessary easements to complete the project.

Financial Impact

The estimated project cost is $780,000.  Funding was approved as part of the FY2018 Stormwater Capital Budget.
