Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Resolution 2017-26.

Background

As part of the FY 2017-2026 Capital Investment Program, East McEwen Drive Improvements Project was selected by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen as a high priority project.  Over the past year, the Board has authorized staff to make numerous safety improvements to East McEwen Drive to include additional signage, guardrail, raised pavement markings and add reflectors to the roadway.  Truck traffic along East McEwen Drive can be limited to local deliveries only to help further improve the safety for the roadway.  Resolution 2017-26 includes a conceptual signage plan.  Staff is seeking approval from the Board to install the additional signage.
