body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the issuance of retail sale certificates to grocery stores selling wine.

Background

As of July 1, 2016, any grocery store selling wine must have at least one employee who holds a manager’s permit.  The City issues permits to Grocery stores within the city limits, upon clear background check approvals.  The required background checks have been performed on specific company executives and the store’s managing agent(s) for the store above; all applicants for this location have passed.  This permit is the first step for grocery stores to obtain their State of Tennessee certificate.

The City issued permit is issued in the name of the store manager and company executives, if applicable.
