title

Acknowledge Report of a Professional Services Agreement (COF 2016-0293) with Littlejohn, Inc. in the Amount of $9,000 for the Village Plains Blvd and Fivemile Crossing Intersection Improvements Project.

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide an update to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a professional services agreement (COF 2016-0293) with Littlejohn, Inc. for the Village Plains Blvd and Fivemile Crossing Intersection Improvements Project.

Background

Berry Farms Section 4 site plans were originally approved prior to the construction of the I-65 and Goose Creek Interchange project.  As part of the TDOT I-65 project, the access from Old Peytonsville Rd to Goose Creek Bypass was removed.  The intersection of Village Plains Blvd and Fivemile Crossing was never designed to handle large truck traffic (WB-62) and staff has been receiving complaints from some of the businesses along Old Peytonsville Rd.  The purpose of this professional services agreement is to determine how to proceed with intersection modifications to accommodate large trucks.

Financial Impact

$9,000 will be paid out of the Engineering Departments budget under professional services.
