body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide an update to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a Professional Services Agreement with Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. for the Mayes Creek Drainage Basin Update.

Background

City staff is evaluating the use of decentralized sanitary sewer treatment facilities in the Mayes Creek Drainage Basin.  The majority of this basin is approximately 7 miles from sanitary sewer and staff is exploring this option to help facilitate future development within the basin.  The decentralized facilities, if approved by the Board, would serve as a temporary alternate treatment facility that could one day be connected to our gravity sanitary sewer system.

Financial Impact

$21,000 to be paid out of the Sewer Access Funds.

Recommendation

rec
