body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a Professional Services Agreement (PSA) with Civil Infrastructure Associates (CIA) for the Watson Branch Culvert Rehabilitation Project.

Background

The Street Department is having operational challenges with an existing 72-inch corrugated metal pipe (CMP) culvert that is located in the Maplewood Subdivision.  The pipe is about 40 years old and is in very poor condition.  The bottom of the pipe is missing in some areas and is in need of rehabilitation or replacement.  The PSA will evaluate options and provide an engineering design so that the pipe can be fixed.

Financial Impact

$30,640 out of the Engineering/Stormwater approved annual budget.  Additional funding for the construction phase will be requested and budgeted out of the Engineering/Stormwater Capital Budget.
