body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the Professional Services Agreement (PSA) (COF Contract No. 2016-0316) with Hazen and Sawyer for the 54-inch Harpeth River Interceptor Sewer Assessment Project.

Background

The existing 54-inch interceptor sewer that runs predominantly along the Harpeth River was installed in 2001.  The sewer line is a fiber reinforced pipe.  During the last 3 years, the City has discovered several failures and deficiencies in parts of this line.  The purpose of this project is for the engineering consultant to review previously recorded videos of inside the sewer line, to prepare a technical memo and to recommend repairs to the line, including estimated costs.

Financial Impact

The cost, as negotiated with Hazen and Sawyer, for the engineering services is a total amount not to exceed $24,750.00.  This project is to be funded from Sewer Operating Funds.
