Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the status of some of the City’s water and sewer projects.
Project Status
A. Spencer Creek Basin - South Prong Interceptor Upgrade
Key Dates: Design Start - April 23, 2013; Design Completion - December 2016*;
Easement Acquisition - TBD; Construction - Not Funded

Status Update: Based on some major alignment changes, the design plans are now 70% complete. The project will not be constructed until funding is available from the Water Management Department budget.
B. Spencer Creek at Franklin Road Sewer
Key Dates: Design Start - March 11, 2014; Design Completion - June 2015; Easement Acquisition Start - September 2015; Easement Acquisition Completion - January 2017*; Bid Date: March 2017*; Construction Start - May 2017*; Construction Completion - January 2018*

Status Update: The plans are 100% complete. Easement acquisition continues.
C. Curd Branch and Watson Branch Interceptor Sewer

Status Update: Bids were opened for this project on September 20, 2016. The bid award is on the October 2016 CIC agenda for a recommendation to approve.
D. Fieldstone Farms Pump Station No. 1 Rehabilitation
Key Dates: Design Start - January 14, 2014; Design Completion - November 2014; Bid Date: December 11, 2014; Construction Start - July 2015; Construction Completion - October 2016
Cost: Design - $226,848.00; CEI - $196,000.00; Construction - $1,701,522.00
Funding Source: Design - Sewer Fund; Construction - Sewer Operating Fund
Status Update: The final walk-thru for the project was conducted on September 7TH, and a punch list, with items that must be completed prior to acceptance of the project by the City, was created. City Staff, the engineering consultant and the contractor have been working together to get the punch list items completed.
E. Goose Creek Sanitary Sewer Extension Project from West of I65 to the East Side of I65

Status Update: This project will be constructed in two phases with the entire job being designed now. Amendment No. 1, which allows for the completion of the Phase 2 design, was approved in September.
H. Ladd Park Interceptor Sewer Improvements

Status Update: The project design is 90% completed. One easement remains to be acquired. The contract documents have been submitted for Legal to review.
