Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the status of some of the City's transportation projects.

Project Status

A. Mack Hatcher Parkway NW Extension
Key Dates: Design Start - August 14, 2007 (BOMA Approval); Re-Design Completion - January 2015; ROW Start - December 2009; ROW Completion - June 2012; Construction - Not Funded
Cost: Design - $3,502,501; ROW - $13,397,520 (Provided by TDOT); Construction - $58,700,000 (Provided by TDOT)
Status Update: TDOT has agreed to build the full intersections at SR96, Hillsboro Road and Del Rio Pike as a part of the 2-lane Mack Hatcher Parkway construction. On February 17, 2016, the Nashville Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Executive Board approved the 2040 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP). Being listed in this plan is the first step for transportation projects to receive federal funding. The Mack Hatcher Parkway NW Extension is listed as one of the short term projects for funding. Ultimately though, the decision to proceed with construction lies with TDOT.

B. Hillsboro Road Improvements Phase 2 (Independence Square to Mack Hatcher Pkwy)
Key Dates: Design Start - March 24, 2008 (BOMA Approval); Design Completion - March 2015; ROW Start - March 2013; ROW Completion - May 2015; Bid Date - January 2016; Construction Start - April 18, 2016; Construction Completion - June 21, 2017 (430 calendar days)

Cost: Design - $1,324,221 (Design fees include the SR96-IndSq Project as well); ROW - $3,000,000; Construction - $11,995,005.13 ($1,750,000 Reimbursable through State and Federally Approved Funding; Includes AT&T and ATMOS Reimbursable items totaling $441,677.00)
