Consideration of COF Contract No. 2016-0278, Interlocal Agreement Between the City of Franklin and Williamson County Concerning Performance Bonds  (10/11/16 WS)

body

Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning an update to the interlocal agreement between the City and Williamson County regarding performance agreements and sureties.

Background

In August of 2011, the BOMA approved an interlocal agreement (COF Contract NO. 2011-0111) with Williamson County, which eliminated the need for performance agreements and posting of sureties related to landscape improvements on County projects.  This agreement replaced the need for individual resolutions each time a Williamson County project was approved.

The term of Contract 2011-0111 ended on June 30, 2016, and Contract 2016-0278 extends the agreement.  This updated agreement covers performance agreements and sureties related to landscape and infrastructure improvements.  Project requirements and conditions of approval on County projects are expected to be met and constructed even though performance agreements and sureties are not required as part of this contract.

Financial Impact

There is no direct financial impact on the City of Franklin due to the proposed agreement.
