body
Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the sole source purchase.
Background
All of the City’s Fire Stations utilize a vehicle exhaust, call a Plymovent system. A plymovent is a piece of equipment that exhaust the fumes from the fire apparatus equipment while it is parked in the bay and as the vehicle exits it breaks away. This keeps the facility’s equipment bay clear of exhaust and in particular carbon monoxide, which can pose health risks. This equipment provided by Controlled Air Systems of Franklin, who is the sole source supplier in the area and handles the maintenance of the units.
Financial Impact
The purchase of this equipment is included as part of Fire Station 8’s project budget
