Purpose

The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a sub-recipient agreement with Tennessee Fair Housing Council in the amount of $3000.00 for providing Fair Housing Outreach.  This activity is contained in the Annual Action Plan and will utilize Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funds.

 

Background

The Tennessee Fair Housing Council will act on the City of Franklin’s behalf to provide counseling and education services on Fair Housing topics, legal services in housing-related litigation, and will act on behalf of aggrieved citizens to interact with a housing provider.  These services help meet requirements of an entitlement community receiving Community Development CDBG funds.

 

Financial Impact

The $3,000 will be allotted from the CDBG fund and is a budgeted item.
