body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the additional tasks requested by the City of Franklin Parks Department for the Parks Master Plan.

Background

On August 12, 2014 the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a professional services agreement with BWSC, Inc. to help in the development of a Comprehensive Parks and Recreation Master Plan.  The purpose of this plan is to ensure that we meet the needs of a growing population and continue to make the City an attractive place to call home for residents and businesses alike.   The professional services agreement was amended on March 8, 2016 to allow for additional public input and work on proposed revisions to the City’s Parkland Dedication Ordinance.

Over the past few months BWSC, Inc. has assisted with numerous revisions to the master plan, attended public meetings and met with staff on numerous occasions to help finalize the master plan.  City staff is requesting additional funding to help with final revisions to the ordinance and master plan.

Financial Impact

$150,000 - Original Contract Amount

$  10,700 - Amendment #1

$  37,450 - Amendment #2

$198,150 - Total Project Cost
