Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) with information to consider Resolution 2015-15 A Resolution Authorizing Condemnation for the Acquisition of Right-of-Way and Easements for the SR-96 West Pedestrian Facility Improvements Project.
Background
The BOMA has determined that certain pedestrian facility improvements are necessary on SR-96 West within the City of Franklin. These improvements will be from Vintage Grove Lane to Freedom Middle School Access Road. This Resolution authorizes staff to proceed with right-of-way acquisition and condemnation. Staff will continue to negotiate with the property owner and utilize condemnation as a last resort.
Financial Impact
The financial impact of the property acquisition portion of the project will be determined by an appraisals and ultimate settlement of the property acquisitions. This project is included in the BOMA-approved Capital Investment Funding Program.
Recommendation
Approval of Resolution 2015-15 is recommended.
