body
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning solar bees at the Water Treatment Facility.
Background
The raw water reservoir at the Water Treatment Plant holds the surface water that has been pumped from the Harpeth River and stores the water until it is ready to be treated. Because the reservoir is large, there are two solar bees mechanisms that work to circulate the water to prevent algae growth and other biodegradable decay. The mechanisms work off solar power, however, at various times, require maintenance to keep the solar panels in optimal condition, in addition to varying the length of the suction tube based upon reservoir levels. This contract will provide for that maintenance of the solar bees for this budget year.
Financial Impact
Five Thousand One Hundred and sixty-two dollars and zero cents ($5,162.00) was budgeted in the Water Treatment Plant operating budget (82620 Equipment Repair and Maintenance Services).
