body

Purpose

The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Ordinance 2015-41, an ordinance to amend the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 budget.

Background

During the budget process, an extensive list of capital equipment items were presented to the Board of Mayor & Aldermen for consideration.  It is inevitable that some of the proposed equipment requests change based on varying needs of the City departments.

This ordinance addresses changes to the Fire Department and Sanitation Department equipment requests.  Normally, requests for such equipment would be folded into a quarterly budget amendment and presented to the Board in September/October time frame.  However, in order to obtain the equipment, authority to purchase needs to be granted and the budget adjusted to accommodate those purchases.

Financial Impact

The financial impact is minimal and each fund can accommodate increases in overall expenditures for these purchases.

Recommendation
