title
Consideration To Deny Water And Sewer Availability For 1886 Wilson Pike (Map 061, Parcel 01310).
body
Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning a recommendation for denial of a request for sewer availability for the above referenced property.
Background
Date of Request: 10/31/19. SFUE’s Requested: 1. Domestic Water Meter Size(s): N/A (Milcrofton Utility District). This property is located within the City limits and is not within an acceptable distance to the City’s Sewer mains. The applicant had applied for sanitary sewer in April of 2019 and had requested denial of his application. Staff agreed on granting this denial because the applicant could not tie into the force main crossing his property and because gravity sewer was an unreasonable distance away. The applicant is now requesting approval of sanitary sewer, proposing using a grinder pump to pump his sewer flow to a manhole in the Breezeway subdivision. This applicant is requesting approval.
Financial Impact
None.
Recommendation
rec
Staff recommends that this availability request be denied. The force main for this one property would have to extend approximately 2,000 feet and cross two different properties to reach the sanitary sewer in the Breezeway subdivision. This constitutes an unorderly expansion of the sanitary sewer collection system.
