Purpose
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning Resolution 2015-39, a resolution awarding the FY2016 On-Call Annual Contract for Called Bonds (COF Contract No. 2015-0080) to Tennessee Valley Paving Company.
Background
The Streets Department utilizes several on-call contractors to construct improvements and repairs to City infrastructure. The On-Call Annual Contract for Called Bonds is specifically used to construct improvements and repairs to City infrastructure that is contained within private development projects, which had had their performance or maintenance surety called by the Franklin Municipal Planning Commission (FMPC).
Bids for the On-Call Annual Contract for Called Bonds were received and opened on June 30, 2015. These bids contained unit prices, which generally include the labor, materials, and equipment, that are necessary for the construction of certain improvements and repairs to City infrastructure. After an analysis of the competitive bid process, City Staff recommends awarding the On-Call Annual Contract for Called Bonds to the low bidder, Tennessee Valley Paving Company.
The initial contract term is one (1) year. The City of Franklin may elect to extend the contracts for one (1) additional year, provided Tennessee Valley Paving Company agrees to the extension.
