Purpose
The purpose of this memo is to provide information to the Franklin Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) concerning the status of some of the City's stormwater projects.

Project Status
A. Jackson Lake Dredging Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - 9/9/2008; Design Completion - June 2010; Bid Date - February 15, 2011; Construction Start - May 2, 2011; Construction Completion - October 2015
Cost: Design - $69,400.00; Construction - $1,663,931.73
Status Update: Major work is complete. The church has requested some minor work to the box bridge.

B. 100-Block Battle Avenue Drainage Improvements
Key Dates: Design Start - July 24, 2012 (BOMA Approved); Design Completion - January 2016*; Easement Acquisition Start - March 2016*; Easement Acquisition Completion - July 2016*; Bid Date - August 2016*; Construction Start - September 2016*; Construction Completion - March 2017*

Cost: Initial Study - $46,500.00; Final Design - $131,700.00 (Including Amendment 1 of $68,200.00); Construction Estimate- $1,200,000.00
Status Update: The BOMA approved moving forward with the project on December 9, 2014. Amendment No. 1 to the design contract (COF Contract No. 2013-0180) was approved at the April 28TH BOMA meeting. This amendment allows for completion of final design. Updated survey completed in July. Geotechnical explorations were completed at the end of September. The final design will continue into spring 2016. ROW Acquisition could begin in late spring 2016. Staff and the design consultant are currently evaluating design changes based upon the recent geotechnical data. The depth of bedrock could hamper the depth of the proposed detention pond.
