Purpose
The purpose of this procurement is to allow the Police Department and City Court to implement an electronic citation system whereby traffic citations may be originated and processed electronically.

Background
The proposed electronic citation system would permit patrol officers to discontinue using paper forms at the time of issuing the citation, and would allow Police Department Records and City Court personnel to discontinue having to key the citation data into their respective databases. The proposed procurement, including initial setup, training, support, software licensing, and hardware, as well as annual licensing, maintenance, and support services, would equip 100 police department users with the means to issue electronic citations, including a software interface with Police Department Records and City Court software. Staff anticipates that gains to the efficiency of operations in both Police and City Court, as well as a reduction in human error, would result from implementation of this system.
